ExpertThis 45mm backset Yale YS170 standard height door lock is often found on many modern composite doors and is a popular multipoint lock. It has 3 hooks lock points 1650mm hook to hook dimension. The centre hook is below the latch and replaces a more common deadbolt for increased security. The Yale YS170 door lock is the range of door locks now sold and commonoly available from the Yale range and have superseded the older ranges no longer made and available.
The door lock gearbox allows you to use a Lever / Lever handle or a lever pad handle as it has a split spindle. If the split spindle is used the spindle allows the door lock to be locked and un-locked but will not operate the latch (snek) on the gearbox from outside without turning the key The internal handle will operate both the locks and the latch without the need to use the key.
