ExpertThis is the top or bottom corner connector linkage part with a mushroom cam bolt. This acts as either a tilt plate bottom pivot point or, alternatively, a locking cam security point that is screwed to the tilt turn gearing. This allows the window to tilt.
You will find that over the years that the tilt turn corner elements used have varied and it is likely that if yours is different, it is now obsolete. However, the corner connector teeth on this new Siegenia part will be compatible with the existing gearing so long as it is replacing a corner part that is not longer than this, so there are enough linkage points still to connect to if trimmed to suit with an hacksaw.
This corner drive connector can be used on either the top or bottom of the window. As long as you make sure there are enough connector teeth under the drive gear mechanism, you should be able to cut the existing drive gear to suit the new corner replacement.
Unfortunately, the old tilt turn gearing parts are now becoming obsolete and are no longer used by modern fabricators. For this reason some adaption work may be necessary to carry out a successful repair with this part.
