Avocet Window Lock Match Combined Shoot Bolt Mushroom Keep Striker Plate
This is the Avocet combined shoot bolt mushroom striker keep often found on the shoot bolt type window locks. The keep is designed to go at the end of the window so that the shoot bolt and mushroom cam drives into it to provide a strong and secure fixing point and will fit various Upvc profiles used over the years. However, you may need to modify your Upvc profile slightly if it is not an exact match because profiles do change over the years but this is not difficult to do.
Over the years the profile companies have a vested interest in updating and changing the shape of the products every few years to meet the new demands and this accounts for why the changes happen. Once they do this the shape of the striker keeps become discontinued because the requirement for them is gone.
To this end, the only option is to modify the keeps and/or the profile Upvc to suit a replacement part. You can normally do this relatively easy by either removing some of the Upvc up-stand with a sharp wood chisel or Stanley knife. Alternatively, you may need to create a bit of a shim/packer to put underneath to give it a flat-bed to sit on. Once you do this and screw it firmly in place it should give you a trouble-free installation.
The keep is sold as a pair (one left hand and one right hand) to fix to the window frame and is therefore suitable to secure one opener.
