Winkhaus Thunderbolt 5 Dead Bolt Door Lock 35mm Backset 16mm Wide Radius Faceplate Split Spindle TFA 2070
This is the latest Winkhaus security door lock with a 35mm backset and 16mm wide faceplate that is used to fit a Upvc door sash & built to ensure that it provides a smooth operation whilst providing enhanched security to suit modern composite, timber and Upvc residential door systems.
The lock has unique features that use double dead bolt lock points top and bottom with a tapered edge to allow the door slab to be neatly and smoothly pulled into place when operated. These bolts are built from high strength steel to provide a secure and robust secure anchor into the outer frame.
The door lock can also be used to replace the older style hook locking mechanisms as the thunder bolts are located in the same place and will fit into the exsisting frame keeps.
The centre gearbox has a latch and deadbolt and this lock comes with a non-handed reversible latch to suit either a left or right hung door. lastly the gearbox also has a split spindle function should you also wish to turn the external side of the door into a key holder only entry lock by fitting the additional split spindle pack additional purchase part) that fits into the existing door handles.

This is the Split Spindle Version that suits Lever, Lever/Lever or Pad Handles without any problem. The overall length of the lock faceplate shown can be trimmed down at the ends with a hacksaw to suit the length of your door.
Split spindle reversal is achieved by pushing the round black cir-clip in the slot shown below from one side to the other to switch the internal to external as required (a small flat screwdriver is the best tool).
