Under Door Upvc Flipper Lip Type Gasket Threshold Rubber Weather Seal
The under door purpose made flipper type low disability threshold black draught seal gasket is a common gasket found on many upvc residential doors that used an aluminimum metal threshold such as Stormguard . This gasket can be used to replace the worn out or damaged gaskets commonly found on doors that have been fitted with a low wheelchair access threshold. As it is fitted to the underneath the door at the bottom and is made to push into the Euro-groove that all upvc doors have as a generic u-shape slot therefore providing a weather tight seal. The gasket cleverly closes up to the gasket protruding from the Stormguard aluminimum threshold (typically AF200 our part 3867) to create a weather seal from the elements
By replacing the worn and damaged gasket rubber seals it will usually restore the weather tightness of the bottom threshold seal and will help to prevent water and weather ingress. The gasket is pushed in and inserted into the purpose made groove and will require it feeding into the slot and may need you to push the 2 ends together to feed it into the slot and slide the ends in with a blunt instrument as you will not be able slide the gasket in from the end once the door is fitted in place.
Sold in 1.15 metre pre-cut length of gasket which is usually long enough to do a standard sized single residential door. Should you need a longer length then (no other size is available but you can easily but two pieces together and secure with a blob of superglue)
Fitting Tp: cut the gasket to length to suit your door size and push into the eurogroove (see in situ image) once happy it is correct we suuggest you mark / note where the gasket needs to sit in place so it is neat and snug at both ends & now open the door ajar and slide the gasket out a little bit at one end and using an adhesive such as superglue put a neat blob on the top of the gasket and now slide it back into the place you noted / marked and hold the gasket in place allowing the glue to adhere. This will keep the gasket in place nd stop it sliding out of place if it is knocked
