This is a UPVC runner lift up wedge type block that causes the opening sash to be lifted up into place as it close into the outer frame in cases where the opener has or is starting to drop or move downwards. The idea is that as the sash is forced onto this block the tapered wedge shape of it make it lift up into place so enabling the lock points to be forced into the correct position. This then enables them to operate and lock without causing undue stress to the locking parts and hardware ensures the opening vent sash is guided into the outer frame to close correctly,
Tip: The UPVC block has a universal shape to it. However, the outer frame it is been fitted to may require shaping to allow the block to sit firmly and flat on the UPVC frame and then be fastened via the screw port hole. The block can also be shaped if necessary by use of a craft knife or sharp wood chisel.
