ExpertThese are Siegenia titan 13mm axis metal tilt keep plate built to suit the Siegenia tilt turn windows. The tilt keep plate provides a locking point for the bottom of the tilt turn gearing. It locks the bottom cam securely behind the keep which allows for the window or patio sliding door leaf opener to tilt out at the top while preventing the tilt turn sash opening at the base of the outer frame.
This is the more common 13mm axis often found on modern upvc windows. if you have aluminium or older slim upvc tilt windows you may find the 9mm slimmer axis keep has been used as a retro fit fix to repair broken tilt keep plates. However, dependant on the profile once used or been fixed to it might require either packing behind it suit different profile system, or the existing frame profile might need trimming back with a sharp wooden chisel or craft knife.

What does 13mm Axis mean: the axis refers to the postion of the groove which the locking point sits on the opening window. This will have a u-shaped euro-groove that the locking mechanism/s slot into and runs round all 4 sides of the window. On Aluminium or very old upvc this groove was set centrally at 9mm as the profiles are much slimmer than modern upvc therefore the fixings sit nearer to the inside of the property hence the 9mm axis. Modern Upvc uses a wider front to back frame of 70mm so the eurogroove has been pusher further back hence it is the wider 13mm axis ( should you want the slimmer 9mm axis see our part 4347 - 4348)
Choosing handing always viewed from inside:
If hinge is on the right hand side when closed = Right hand keep required (handle will be on the left when closed)
If hinge is on the left hand side when closed = Left hand keep required (handle will be on the right when closed)
