ExpertThis is the new Mila stainless steel range of door products that has been built from supa stainless 304 steel with a screw to screw dimension of 123mm & the top screw hole under the lever of the handle. This achieves a strong and long lasting coated finish for hardware parts particularly exposed to areas that suffer high corosion, such as coastal high salt in the air. Also areas that suffer from higher chemical corrosion will typically see hardware parts becoming contaminated and coroding much quicker.
The range of door handles, letterplates, and knockers have been built from 304 stainless steel and coated with long lasting finishes to ensure a high quality and long lasting installation as long as the home owner periodically cleans the surfaces with only warm soapy water and never uses chemicals.

304 stainless steel has been designed to provide a solution to areas with high corosion issues such as marine and coastal locations. It is a tough, long lasting, durable metal. However under certain conditions, it can appear to rust. This is natural reaction, usually between the surface of the steel and its surroundings. There are many things you can do to prevent this reaction or clean the rust off the steel using the correct cleaning procedure.
• Cleaning: A clean cloth and warm water with a light soapy solution should remove light rust.
• Stainless steel cleaner: You can buy cleaners specifically designed for removing and preventing rust.
• Nylon abrasive pad (carbon steel wool should NOT be used as this will react). This can be used for tougher rust in the direction of the grain.
Do NOT use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, bleach, or solvents because this will remove the coating and will increase corrosion.
