ExpertThis is the Trojan Yale heavy duty mega egress friction hinge. It was was developed to be able to provide a side opening fire escape egress solution to Upvc windows, and also timber casement openers, to allow them to safely work for heavy glass and opening sections.
The hinges were made in two lengths (8 inch or 13 inch) and both have a 13mm stack height, which is the most common height. However, should you need to achieve a 17mm stack height, you can fit the 4mm packer to achieve this (search for our part number 1612 or "Friction Stay Hinge 4mm Packers To Increase Stack Height By 4mm - 4mm packer x 6 (Six)").
This hinge pair is made from heavy duty steel and is able to handle much heavier weights than normal standard window hinges.
Fixing are not included with these parts. This is because most of the time you can reuse the existing ones and due to the different window profiles manufactured over the decades, there is no one-size-fits-all solution to this.
