What You Will Receive:

Fitting tip: If you are replacing Version 1 (Maco Part No 56231) with Version CTS here you will find that Maco have now altered the hook boxes and is slightly longer by approximately 10mm which may mean you need to open the routed hole to accommodate , the Hook Keeps and Centre Latch may need to be lowered by 10-20mm. You may also find that the Maco 56231 gearbox length was generally approx. 185mm long, whilst the new gearbox is approx. 35mm longer. If the door is routed tightly simply enlarge the slot with a sharp wood chisel or suitable craft knife to suit. This does not affect the working of the door.
Lastly if using this lock to fit into the top and bottom shoot bolts you will find that the new mechanism connecting teeth move in the opposite direction to the old one so this means that you will also need to move the top shoot bolt to the bottom and the bottom shoot bolt to the top otherwise the gearing will not operate as the old shoot bolt corners will be trying to move in the wrong direction.
You may decide it is easier to simply remove the shoot bolt corners altogether if is is a single door and simply allow the new lock to run the full length of the door sash and use the mushroom cam that is located near the top / bottom as a locking point.
The overall length of the lock faceplate shown can be trimmed down at the ends with a hacksaw to suit the length of your door.
N:B the new lock sent will be with the new CTS Maco hook locks as shown below and is the new genuine Maco part that has superseded previous ones
This is the Maco 2 Hooks, 2 Mushroom Cams, 35mm Backset Version CTS with a UPVC Multipoint door locking mechanism. Can be used to replace the old Maco 56231 door lock in most cases. This is the new Maco CTS version which supersedes the older version and features a new hook boxes which work the same, howver the overall box is approx 10mm longer.
