GU Tilt & Slide Patio Striker Keep Allows Patio To Lock In Tilt Postion
This is a purpose made GU patio tilt striker keep that allows the GU type patio door to snap into place at the bottom allowing the opening slider to be put on the tilt postion for ventilation purposes whilst keeping the patio slider locked in place at the bottom.
This keep is designed to suit the GU specific tilt gearing that is fitted to the bottom of the sliding door.
As the keeps are a profile related part you will likely need to do a little work to the upvc or the keep to allow it to sit onto the profile correctly subject to the actual upvc profile you now have fitted.
Fitting Tip:
It is almost impossible to direct you to an exact match as keeps are a profile related part which will of been made to fit your specific profile at point of manufacture.
Obviously over the years the profile companies have a vested interest in updating and changing the shape of the products every few years to meet the new demands
Once they do this the shape of the keeps become discontinued, as the requirement for them is gone.
To this end the only option is to modify the keeps and or the profile upvc to suit. You can normally do this relatively easy by either removing some of the Upvc up stand with a sharp wood chisel or Stanley knife. Alternatively, you may need to create a bit of a shim / packer to put underneath to give it a flat-bed to sit on. Once you do this and screw it firmly in place it should give you a trouble-free installation. You generally need to concentrate on the detailed dimension drawings we have.
This is a GU specific tilt keep striker plate to allow the tilting slider to lock into place at the bottom so that it can provide ventilation whilst in the tilt postion but remain locked and closed at the bottom of the door.
