ExpertThis security restrictor arm has been designed with an extra long length on the arm. This allows the user to be able to un-connect the arm without trapping their fingers as is associated with the shorter arms.
The arm should still be postioned so that the opener is restricted to approximately 100mm for child safety facilities and vulnerable persons falling from windows etc.
This arm is particularly usefull on large top opening window casements but can also be used on side opening windows that allow enough room to clear the friction hinge.
The restrictor arm fits onto the window frame by screwing it on via the two fixing holes. The hooked restrictor arm then simply catches behind the studd head each time the window is opened to restrict the opening to approximately 100mm - 140mm. To disengage the restrictor, you need to pull the opener back closed slightly and hold in the restrictor arm untill the opener has cleared the studd head.
Note: You must choose the handing (left or right) of the restrictor arm. This is because these parts are not universal.
