ERA Double Cam High Security Window Lock Striker Keep Plate
This is the purpose-made frame keep striker plate to suit the double locking mushroom cam for the ERA window lock.
The new range of double cam window locks have removed the central double cam in the smaller window sizes (600mm and smaller). They have now put the double lock cam on either end of the window locks as additional security, rather than relying on only a central lock. This means if you are replacing a smaller old type window lock, you might need the additional frame keep so you can move the central one to one end and fit the new keep to the other end.
Fitting tip: Dependant on the shape of your existing UPVC profile, you might need to make the new frame keep fit. You can normally do this relatively easy by either removing some of the Upvc up stand with a sharp wood chisel, or Stanley knife. Alternatively, you might need to create a bit of a shim / packer to put underneath to give the keep a flat-bed to sit on. Once you do this, and screw it firmly in place, it should give you a trouble-free installation.
Fixings from the old keep can normally be reused so they are not included. However, they can be ordered as a separate part if required.
