Mila Offset Window Lock Mechanisms - Used in 1980's & 1990's Upvc Windows
Mila offset window lock mechanisms were widely used in the early days of Upvc windows, throughout the 1980’s and 1990’s.
The offset gearbox was made to use the existing bead leg chamber in Upvc window openers to allow for a window gearbox, rather than the once used cockspur window handles, which were not as secure.
The gearbox was made as slim as possible so that the reinforcing chamber was not compromised, but still use the full length lock that would allow the mechanism to have multipoint locking mushroom cams.
The offset window lock was superseded with the modern inline lock rod. However, we can still offer the offset Mila lock rod in a 22mm backset, which has the most common lock used.
