A child safety restrictor is an easy way to keep young children safe around the window in your home, as you might guess from the name the restrictor "restricts" how far the window can open.

But how does it work?

Well the restrictor arm fits onto the window frame by screwing it on via the two fixing holes. The hooked restrictor arm then simply catches behind the studd head each time the window is opened to restrict the opening to approx 100mm. To disengage the restrictor you need to pull the opener back closed slightly and hold in the restrictor arm untill the opener has cleared the stud head.
