They are made with purpose made longer levers to enable persons to be able to gain increased leverage and grip to lift and pull down on the handles so that they can operate the door lock mechanisms. These are particularly useful for elderly or infirm persons who may struggle to operate multipoint mechanisms often found on residential door systems.
