ExpertThe Anglian window lock centre gear box has seperate shoot bolts which connect to the purpose made hooks that protrude from either end. They are pushed in to the lock and held in place via purpose made PVC strips, which cover both the shoot bolts and the hook points once fitted into the window opening vent.
Note that the extensions are not included with the gear box. They are a separate part which is no longer made and is obsolete.

Fitting Tip: If your lock is the first version see our photo showing the old type lock which had a "U" shaped centre catch, or even older than this, it would have had a round pin. Both of these are now obsolete and has been superseded with the one in our listing.
You will note the centre housing is different and the easiest thing to do is to remove this keep. The window will still lock on the shoot bolts. However, if you wish to maintain the locking in the centre and are handy enough to do so, you can carefully cut the plate on the new one to get it to sit into the existing frame keep properly. The keeps are no longer made so you cannot fit an alternative part. The shoot bolt extensions will re-connect as before and other than that, it should prove to be a successful repair.
Please be aware that the older version of this part has a brass coloured finish. The newer 2024 version has a silver colour finish but everything else is identical and works the same way. Once the last of the brass stock is sold, only the silver stock will be available.

The Anglian window lock then accepts shoot bolts that connect to the hooked extensions that protrude from either end of the lock box. The Anglian centre window lock gearbox is handed left or right & viewed from inside the property, please view the various drawings listed to identify the correct handing.
