The actual measurement of the ABT door lock PZ is 47.5mm but is usually rounded up to 48mm, although sometimes it might be rounded down to 47mm. What is an ABT Snib Latch:
This version is the ABT door lock which does not have a snib. The snib is refered to as the brass coloured triangle button that protrudes from the face of these locks and pushes in once it closes onto the frame latch keep on the door and springs out once the door is opened. This sprung snib latch prevents the handle been operated when the door is open so that you cannot inadvertently close the door with the lock points engaged causing them to smash against the frame keeps causing them to be damaged.
As this is the no snib option the door handle lock can be used in either the open or closed position. This lock will still work with no issue and in the same way to an ABT door lock which previously had the snib option a fitted & many people prefer this option as the lock works as a normal lock would be expected to perform.
How to Reverse the Latch on an ABT Door Gearbox:
This is the ABT Door Lock replacement gearbox mechanism. It is a suitable replacement for the old St Helens UPVC door lock and connects to the top and bottom locking rods concealed in door jamb. It has a 48mm PZ and a 32mm backset. This is the without snib version of ABT door lock.
