ExpertThe dimensions we show are a good approximation of them. Over the years the manufacture of letterboxes keep changing them to suit styles and shapes. To this end it is almost impossible to provide an exact dimension match. All companies nominally state letterboxes as either 10 inch or 12 inch but these are not exact dimensions. The sizes in inches are for ease of reference that have never left the industry. Please refer to the dimension diagrams for full details in millimetres.

Comes with anti-vandal fixing screws if used as well as an external flap that opens to approximately 180 degrees to prevent snapping and also ultra flexible springs to allow for thousands of openings without breakage.
It is quite normal to have to either adapt the existing cut out slightly to make the new fit and again it may mean that the screw positions are in a different position slightly. With regard to the big anti vandal metal lug this is removable by simply resting the back of it on a firm base and firmly knocking the letterbox casing down with a firm tap (not an hammer) this will allow the sleeve to slide out of the hexagonal fixing position. You can then use the face fix screw holes if you wish.
Please note that the gold panel type 20-40mm sleeve (our reference 219) version sized letterbox dimensions are slightly different to all the other letterboxes and the overall length is 10mm longer (screw fix dim = 287mm, sleeve length = 273mm, total overall length = 316mm). Please note this before placing your order and can be easily accommodated by opening the pre-routed slot in length with a pad saw or craft knife.
Historically there were many variations of 10 and 12 inch letterboxes which were all slightly different dimensionally dependent on manufacturer. However, this is no longer the case as they are no longer popular and used in new door fabrications and replaced with the larger 12 inch composite door type letterboxes which have their own size range. They are all pretty much generic sizes.

Vita Upvc and timber door letter box to suit panels or midrails either 10 inch long or 12 inch long. Inside flap draught brush. Panel types are suitable for use in moulded panels. If unsure of sleeve size required choose a Midrail type. Sleeves on midrail types can be cut down with a saw. Gold, Chrome or White colour. Surround Colour: Black.
